Além disso, o estudo enfatiza a importância da integração de estudos de campo com técnicas de mapeamento para uma avaliação mais precisa e eficaz das condições ambientais.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> DAIANA DE ANDRADE MATOS Copyright (c) 2025 Cadernos de Geociências 2025-02-26 2025-02-26 20 01 10.9771/geocad.v20i0.62610 Analysis of Vegetation Dynamics and Urban Expansion in Tamandaré–PE using Remote Sensing https://revbaianaenferm.ufba.br/index.php/cadgeoc/article/view/68812 <p><audio class="audio-for-speech"></audio></p> <div class="translate-tooltip-mtz translator-hidden"> <div class="header"> <div class="header-controls">Translator</div> <div class="header-controls">&nbsp;</div> <div class="header-controls">&nbsp;</div> </div> <div class="translated-text"> <div class="words">&nbsp;</div> <div class="sentences">&nbsp;</div> </div> </div> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><audio class="audio-for-speech"></audio></p> <div class="translate-tooltip-mtz translator-hidden"> <div class="header"> <div class="header-controls">Translator</div> <div class="header-controls">&nbsp;</div> <div class="header-controls">&nbsp;</div> </div> <div class="translated-text"> <div class="words">&nbsp;</div> <div class="sentences">&nbsp;</div> </div> </div> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The increase in research related to geoenvironmental studies in recent years highlights the importance of using technological practices to monitor land use and occupation of territorial units. In this context, this study aimed to conduct a temporal analysis of the municipality of Tamandaré, located on the southern coast of Pernambuco, in order to support environmental monitoring. For this research, images from the LANDSAT 8 and COPERNICUS satellites were used, and the maps were prepared using the software QGIS 3.30.2. The results showed a significant increase in urban expansion in the municipality due to tourism and the abandonment of agricultural areas, which have been converted into commercial establishments.</p> Mário Barbosa Copyright (c) 2025 Cadernos de Geociências 2025-08-19 2025-08-19 20 01 10.9771/geocad.v20i0.68812 The Composting as a Sustainable Strategy in Solid Waste Management: An Analysis in Restaurants https://revbaianaenferm.ufba.br/index.php/cadgeoc/article/view/69632 <p>The composting technique is an alternative for the establishment of a suitable destination for solid waste generated by society, due to its efficiency in the three spheres of sustainability (Triple Bottom Line). The purpose of this study is to approach the technique of composting as a solution for the disposal of solid waste, bringing economic and socio-environmental advantages to society. This is a qualitative, quantitative and descriptive research on trends in public opinion that compares two restaurants that practice composting and shows that this is a correct and advantageous attitude for all stakeholders, if properly managed, being an important ally in the solid waste management. The results show: reduction of the amount of waste destined to the sanitary landfills; a green marketing strategy; benefits related to the well-being of practitioners; benefits to public health and the environment, in fact becoming a sustainable attitude.</p> Paula Crelier Pedro Niño Copyright (c) 2025 Cadernos de Geociências 2025-08-25 2025-08-25 20 01 10.9771/geocad.v20i0.69632 REASSESSMENT OF THE LIMNIC OSTRACODS FROM THE ITAPARICA FORMATION, BERRIANSIAN (LOWER CRETACEOUS), RECÔNCAVO BASIN, BAHIA, BRAZIL: A TAXONOMIC AND PALEOENVIRONMENTAL UPDATE https://revbaianaenferm.ufba.br/index.php/cadgeoc/article/view/64563 <p>Based on the study of a great quantity of ostracods carapaces from 10 cores of the Recôncavo Basin (Bahia, Brazil), this work presents the detailed and revised taxonomy of limnic ostracoda from the Itaparica Formation (Lower Cretaceous). Seven species belonging to four genera have been recovered: <em>Kegelina kegeli</em>,<em> Kegelina depressa</em>, <em>Kegelina bisculpturata</em>,<em> Kegelina armata</em>, <em>Praecypridea acuta</em>, <em>Cypridea brevicornis, Theriosynoecum fittoni. </em>What was once defined as<em> Theriosynoecum varietuberatum proximum </em>and<em> Theriosynoecum varietuberatum varietuberatum </em>is understood here as a difference in ornamental of the <em>Theriosynoecum fittoni</em> due to overall morphological compatibility. This observation is supported by most recent works, as it brings ornamentation itself as an insufficient aspect to distinct and define species for the <em>Theriosynoecum</em> genus. Based on the ostracoda associated with the litologic aspects, the Itaparica Fm represent a lacustrine depositional environment in a freshwater lake with depositions of shales, sandstones, siltstones, carbonatite and limestones in an arid climate.</p> Jéssica Brunhilde Lira Rios Ricardo Piaza Meireles Celso Lira Ximenes Copyright (c) 2025 Cadernos de Geociências 2025-02-25 2025-02-25 20 01 10.9771/geocad.v20i0.64563 MAPA GEOAMBIENTAL DA ILHA DE ITAPARICA https://revbaianaenferm.ufba.br/index.php/cadgeoc/article/view/65336 <p class="western" align="justify"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">The aim of this study is to draw up a geo-environmental map of Itaparica Island, located in Todos-os-Santos Bay, Bahia, using physiographic compartmentalization techniques and a multi-thematic approach. The methodology adopted involves the characterization of the attributes of the physical environment and the analysis of land use typologies and the delimitation of environmental preservation, permanent and park areas. To do this, tools such as GIS and the hierarchical analysis process (AHP) are used to integrate and weight the environmental variables. The area has significant geo-environmental diversity, being organized into specific units separated by the homologous characteristics of their distinct environments such as coastal plains, mangroves, areas of influence of Cretaceous and Tertiary rocks. The analysis revealed environmental weaknesses of varying intensity, particularly susceptibility to erosion in sandy and sandy-clay soils, associated with deforestation of native vegetation and the high slope of the terrain. The results showed the importance of environmental and territorial planning on Itaparica Island, highlighting the need for conservation measures, especially in the most vulnerable areas, and reinforcing the relevance of geoenvironmental mapping as a sustainable management tool.</span></span></span></p> Luana de Sousa Pereira José Ângelo Sebastião Araujo dos Anjos Jailma Santos de Souza de Oliveira Laura Peixoto Bastos Copyright (c) 2025 Cadernos de Geociências 2025-05-24 2025-05-24 20 01 10.9771/geocad.v20i0.65336 DETAILED GEOLOGICAL MAPPING IN SECTOR OF THE CRYSTALLINE BELT BETWEEN TEJUÇUOCA AND ITAPAJÉ, CE https://revbaianaenferm.ufba.br/index.php/cadgeoc/article/view/67000 <p>The geological knowledge of a region represents a crucial source of scientific information, essential for the detailed understanding of the area's geological and geomorphological aspects.
