Abstract

A produção de imagens impactantes tornou-se indispensável ao telejornalismo, principalmente, ao gênero policial. Flagrantes de crimes, acidentes de trânsito e casos inusitados constituem uma importante ferramenta na briga pela audiência entre as emissoras de TV, mas o registro “ao vivo” de eventos noticiáveis continua sendo um grande desafio para o jornalismo televisivo. Nesse sentido, os jornalistas amadores, agentes sem formação superior específica, passaram a desempenhar um papel fundamental nas coberturas de crime. Seu trabalho, no entanto, foi representado de forma caricaturizada através do longa-metragem “O Abutre” (2014). Sendo assim, o objetivo desse artigo é mostrar quem são e como atuam os amadores para discutir em que medida seu uso pelos telejornais expõe os limites da autoridade jornalística no Brasil.
