Abstract

A nova explosão comunicacional do século XXI tem implicações, não só para as estratégias dos media, como para a existência, conteúdo e forma de géneros muito específicos do jornalismo, como a crítica de televisão. Neste artigo, começo por uma descrição analítica breve deste género nas primeiras décadas de existência do media, para passar depois à análise do lugar da crítica no âmbito da nova explosão comunicacional; a seguir, faço uma pausa para reflectir sobre duas reacções diferentes a respeito da crítica literária no novo ambiente mediático, e termino com algumas sugestões do que deve ser hoje a crítica de televisão para poder considerar-se útil, necessária e para sobreviver com visibilidade e responsabilidade na era do receptor empoderado.

Professor de Estudos Televisivos e de Análise de Publicidade na UCP, Lisboa. Crítico de TV e media, Público, Lisboa Crítico de publicidade, Jornal de Negócios, Lisboa. Doutorado em Sociologia, Instituto de Ciências Sociais, Universidade de Lisboa Autor de 12 livros e diversos artigos em livros e revistas, incluindo com arbitragem científica.
