This article discusses the social properties of group theater in the city of São Paulo, mainly the collectives and artists that gave rise to the Arte contra a Barbárie movement, which was responsible for the drafting and subsequent approval of the Lei de Fomento ao Teatro for the city of São Paulo. The aim of this article is to build a kind of collective sociological profile of this section of São Paulo group theater, taking into account social, generational and gender aspects, using the Art Against Barbarism movement as a milestone in contemporary production.Downloads
