About the Journal

Revista Africanidades was created in the context of the pandemic, as a tool to expand our relationships with different audiences, at a time when we were isolated, but it results from an old desire to create a permanent channel of communication and listening, including to feed back their museological and expographic approaches, their exhibitions, cultural and educational activities, among others.

Its creation and production took place thanks to the involvement of the MAFRO museology team, however the continuity and implementation of this proposal will only be possible thanks to the involvement of old and recent partners and partners.

Initially the Journal will develop around the following sections:

Inside the Museum, with articles produced by the MAFRO team, and also by invited people, involved in the institution's activities, aiming at the presentation of themes related to the museum's collection, research developed and dissemination actions.

Territories aims to present experiences carried out in the field of Theater, Afro-futurism, Literature, Culture-Material, Press, Musicalities, Cinema, Black Memories, Visual Arts, Science, Technology, Education. Some editions will present thematic dossiers.

The magazine falls into the areas of: African and Afro-Brazilian cultures; assets; Memoirs; Art; Identities, aimed at the public and general, with emphasis on researchers, cultural producers and
Afro-diasporic communities.

The following types of works will be accepted for publication: Articles, reviews, interviews, photographic and literary essays (prose and poetry), which will be evaluated in a Blind System, carried out by referees
specialists in the field with high academic degrees, chosen from a bank of reviewers created by the editorial board. The files will be evaluated without the identification of authorship.

Exceptionally, the simple evaluation will be waived, due to the relevance of the authorship and/or subject matter.
