ABSTRACT
Trauma to the periorbital region from foreign bodies is not uncommon in eye emergencies. Foreign bodies are classified according to their nature. They can be inorganic, such as glass and plastic, and organic, such as wood, strongly associated with infections. Detecting foreign wooden bodies inside the orbit can be difficult in imaging exams, including computed tomography since it looks like air or fat on examination and often goes unnoticed. This study aims to report four cases of ocular trauma associated with retained wooden foreign bodies.
