Digital technologies have offered us a new generation of images that questions the culture of confidence that the modern technical images had once established. At stake is not just the digital simulacra’s new status but also the old analogical images’ one. Two visual cultures whose coexistence installs a mixed visual beliefs’ regime which shows tendency to disorientation. Between the photographical “this has been” (Barthes) and the digital “this may not have been” the contemporary technical images have stressed a state of irritation far-out from the recent visual practices in the Occident. In what do we believe to believe from the program of the images we observe nowadays?Downloads
