Narratives of the healthy body in the era of Complete Health - This study is part of a research entitled “The invention of the Other and of the Same in the weekly media”, in which the main focus is the opposition wealth/success versus poverty/violence (keeping in mind that wealth and poverty are the two major productions of global capitalism). In this article, we will study the thematic and figurative constructions of the healthy body in the weekly media. What is the healthy body proposed in the cover reports? How should the reader build it; what must he do? How should the body’s limits be overcome? To answer these questions, we will examine the reports that, according to discursive inclusions and key point de capitons (nodal points), thematize not only the role of fitness centers, plastic surgery, and esthetic treatments but also alternative treatments, exercises and psychological therapies and, from a broader standpoint, the construction of contemporary socialization directed at a superego-imperative that advocates gratification in the world of consumerism.Downloads
