The studies on humor and laughter have been growing in the past few years. Adored and divinized in ancient Greece, humor was later banished from the field of thought in Greece and, later on, with a modernity so serious and scientific. Nowadays it is being revisited strongly. The goal of the present article is to try and understand the phenomenon in recent times, mainly from the end of the nineteen century on, more specifically after Nietzsche and Kierkegaard have laid eyes upon the subject of irony. We intend to work both the philosophical and the communicational aspects, showing how they are bonded. We shall also use the cinema of Woody Allen to exemplify our main ideas.Downloads
