This article aims to present reflections arising from an ongoing study whose problem breaks down into two questions: what are the representations constructed by the youth soap opera “Malhação ID” and how they collaborate in the definition of youth identities from the receptor of the program. The construction of identity is observed by the definition that the young people have about the lifestyle, in view of the consumption of material things and media, relationships, work, family and school, by comparing there representations that they have about youth characters of “Malhação” with a self-representation.Downloads
