Abstract

O presente trabalho discute a legitimidade da representação não eleitoral, também conhecida como representação discursiva, expressa nas redes sociais, em especial quando dizem respeito às lutas simbólicas ou questões de reconhecimento. Discute-se as vantagens de pensar a representação de grupos oprimidos e sem visibilidade na esfera publica, ao mesmo tempo em que aponta-se três limites da representação discursiva, pensada a longo prazo: a) desenvolvimento de autonomia individual e política dos sujeitos, b) possibilidade de engajamento cívico dos próprios afetados em direção às suas lutas por reconhecimento, c) protagonismo e autoexpressão de demandas.

Regiane Lucas Garcêz, UFMG

Doutoranda em Comunicação Social pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), onde também concluiu o mestrado e a graduação com habilitação em jornalismo. Dedica-se a pesquisas que envolvem os discursos sobre a inclusão dos surdos na mídia, luta por reconhecimento de identidades coletivas dos surdos, testemunhos, internet e esfera pública. Regiane Lucas Garcêz is journalist and PhD student in Social Communication at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), where she holds master degree (2008). She’s researcher of Media and Public Sphere Group (EME/UFMG). Has experience in Comunication, acting on the following subjects: deaf, struggle for recognition, internet, identity and storytelling.
