Abstract

Este artigo tem como objetivo propor uma discussão teórica sobre os novos desafios impostos pelas mídias digitais à regulamentação estatal protetiva à liberdade de expressão. Para tal, apresenta-se uma revisão bibliográfica sobre os conceitos de liberdade de expressão e regulação das mídias tradicionais. Da mesma forma, retoma-se o debate sobre democratização da comunicação na internet e iniciativas que tendem a verticalizar setores da rede. Por fim, coloca-se questões interdisciplinares que poderão contribuir com o estudo do referido tema.
