Abstract: The focuses of this article are the uses and appropriations of the social network Facebook by women in Sertão of Piauí. We start from an ongoing doctorate research with the objective of analyze how these uses and appropriations by the Sertão women can contribute to the construction of their autonomy and of their political subjectivity. From a mixture between European and Latin American theoretical frameworks, we correlate the women’s technical interactions and uses to the concepts of autonomy (WARREN, 2001; REGO; PINZANI, 2013) and subjectivity (LAZZARATO, 2014). Our methodological construction is grounded in a combination of netnography (KOZINETS, 2002; 2010) and Grounded Theory (ALLAN, 2003), articulating data collection procedures like interviews, participant observation and field diary. We noticed, preliminarily, that Facebook is important to the subjectivity, overcoming geographical and symbolic boundaries, in addition to provide a “show up” through images.Downloads
