Abstract

This article intends to explore the relation between the production of the midiatic event and the construction of identities in the specific case of the “chacina da Candelária”, occurred in 23 of July of 1993. I intend to explore the narrative journalistic of O Globo, and the way for which this vehicle translates the contradiction of the reality for its readers, observing, mainly, as this media manages the concepts of the daily life, or the common sense. This work intends to answer to some questions: how is constructed initially the event “chacina da Candelária”? What we are understanding for event? How the periodical constructs the narratives of the common sense?
