Esta pesquisa analisa o “livro de mesa” ou, para usar uma denominação mercadológica, o coffee table book como objeto com potencial para despertar fetichismos em colecionadores ocasionais ou bibliófilos. Coffee table book é uma maneira informal de se referir aos livros de concepção apurada e acabamento artístico e luxuoso que ficam expostos em ambientes sociais, em vez de acomodados em estantes ou até escondidos em prateleiras. Trabalhamos com a hipótese de que, por se tratar de obras com apelos visuais e sensoriais, a relação do consumidor com esses produtos se caracteriza mais por sentimentos vinculados à posse de algo do que propriamente pelos motivos que o levam a consultar os livros convencionais, a saber, ter acesso à informação e ao entretenimento.Downloads
