ESTUDO SOBRE A TERMINOLOGIA JURÍDICA NOS CONCURSOS DA POLÍCIA FEDERAL

The aim of this study is to propose a glossary that aims to contribute to the clarity of legal terms found in exams for Federal Police Agents. The approach to Terminology is based on the Communicative Theory of Terminology, Barros (2004) and Krieger & Finatto (2004); and the approaches to legal language, Tribilhano & Henriques (2017). In order to produce the terminographic product, we adopted some of Almeida's (2012) methodological steps and Corpus Linguistics as a tool for processing the terminological units, with the help of two software programs, based on the study corpus made up of eight tests from different periods. The product proposed here is aimed at the general public and was produced in partnership with the domain specialist who validated and attested to the recurrence of legal terms in the PF tests.
