Abstract

In a world where science and technology are integral parts of development of a country, it is important to understand what are their purposes. It’s not easy to produce criticism on a topic that seems to be incontrovertible to much of the world´s society as to their benefits. Certainly the evolution of science and technology is not accessible to all peoples of the planet. Milton Santos was one of the biggest critics of the development of technology and science separate from society, especially in the third world and particularly in Brazil. This text have chosen part of the thoughts of Milton Santos on this issue with the aim to reinforce the need to rethink the ways of brazilian science.
