The expansion of online audiovisual consumption
the consolidation of the financial architecture of the Audiovisual Sector Fund (FSA) and the difficult insertion of Brazilian audiovisual content into streaming platforms

This work focuses on the triad of economic, financial and political relations between: 1) the expansion of online audiovisual consumption in Brazil in the last ten years; 2) the consolidation of the financial architecture of the Audiovisual Sector Fund (FSA), which only became possible after the advent of Condecine-Teles, a contribution that came into force in 2012 (Law 12,485/2011) and affects companies that distribute content audiovisual; 3) the difficulties in inserting Brazilian audiovisual content (series, films, documentaries, animations, etc.) into the existing online audiovisual market in Brazil, anchored in the offering of subscription services with streaming platforms. The result of this amalgamation is that the FSA now has continuous and voluminous resources to finance the creation, production, distribution and exhibition of Brazilian audiovisual content, which has the Brazilian Product Certificate (CPB), but these same contents have lost a lot of space in the market share in the large-screen cinema vector (mall) and has a very small share in the online audiovisual market vector.
