This text reproduces the speech delivered by Professor Ariadne Moraes (FAUFBA) at the 6th APUB Retirees’ Meeting, held in Salvador on November 7, 2019, during the institutional tribute to Professor Pasqualino Romano Magnavita, who had been her graduate advisor. The speech revisits six decades of his professional path, highlighting his continuous presence at UFBA, his political engagement, and his participation in the creation or consolidation of FAUFBA, IAB-BA, APUB, CEAB, CECRE, and CEPUR. His architectural, artistic, and intellectual production is emphasized, as well as his rhizomatic thought and his defense of creativity, collectivity, and anonymity as ethical-aesthetic principles. Magnavita’s trajectory is also linked to the Mirante do Solar in Itaparica, presented as a space of culture, learning, and conviviality, underscoring the breadth of his legacy.
