Abstract

The text is a transcription of the author's speech at the panel "Female Bodies and the Street" from the Gendered Cities Colloquium. Maria França reflects on the difficulties faced by bodies of dimensions outside the social standard in the daily life of the city of Salvador and exposes the organizing movement of plus-size women in the struggle for recognition and social rights.
