Abstract

This text is a transcription of the author's speech at the panel "Architecture, Urbanism, and the city as read by the sexed body" of the "Sexed Cities" Colloquium. Jaime Solares Carmona reflects on collective resistance practices of the LGBTQIAPN+ population in Largo do Arouche against gentrification and social cleansing processes in São Paulo, as paths to preserving dissident memory and combating the social erasure promoted by the real estate market and the State.
