Abstract

The text is a transcription of the author’s presentation at Panel 5 (Housing Reception Policies for the LGBTQIA+ population) of the Gendered Cities Colloquium. In his presentation, João Hugo Cerqueira, coordinator of the Casa Aurora LGBTQIA+ shelter, reflects on the institutional and financial constraints faced by shelter homes in Bahia and discusses the everyday challenges of providing accommodation for the LGBTQIAPN+ population in situations of vulnerability.
