THE NOSSA SENHORA DOS NAVEGANTES FEST OF PORTO ALEGRE DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Abstract

It study the information about the Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes Fest of Porto Alegre during the covid-19 pandemic. It aims to analize the information about the Fest, in its 2021 edition, available on the internet and from institutional sources. It analizes the way information was used by the different institutions that broadcasted news about the Fest. It articulates the concepts of information, social representations, memory and popular fests. Methodologically, this is a qualitative study, with a descriptive objective and a technical documentar procedure, based on information available on the internet. The results point several information sources used to publicize the event, which includes public and private agencies. Local newspapers stand out, with brief information focused on presentig the event’s schedule and the changes that occurred due to the pandemic. Its concludes that the information about the activities that took place during the Fest helped in the maintenance of local memories and the conformation of already constituted representations about the festival.
