Struggle for territorial power: State and recognition in the local development of needy communities
Keywords:
Rich, Poor, Public Policies, Violence, powerAbstract
This present work is a theoretical essay focused on the analysis of the contributions of the concepts of space, territory, recognition, and local development in understanding the inefficiency of the State in the face of struggles for power. In this scenario, a dichotomy between rich and poor in the exercise of citizenship, political representation, housing conditions and exposure to violence is evident. Thus, this essay aimed to raise discussions, without the intention of exhausting them, on these issues. In conclusion, it is evident the need to include the peripheral population in public policies, respecting the exercise of their rights, opportunities, and individual and local development.
