Abstract

The creation of social value is perceived in a multifaceted and ambiguous way, and is complex to measure and understand. This essay argues that the creation of social value is one of the outputs of social enterprises and represents changes in people's quality of life. These changes, in the context of social enterprise intervention, result in the creation of social impact, whether positive externalities, from a structuralist perspective in which the sum of individual well-being is amplified for society. It is also understood that there is a broad field of study of social value and its creation, whose literature requires more robust research, from the perspectives of: a] levels of social value creation; b] focus of social value creation; c] scope of social value creation; d] temporal amplitude of social value creation; and f] tangibility of social value creation.
