Abstract

This article aims to analyze the productions in the field of Brazilian museum documentation, with the intention of identifying which themes were latent and were under development between the years 2012 and 2022. The digital technologies generated by the transformation of society mean that museological practices are constantly adapting, especially with regard to museum documentation. The access and recovery of collections by the public must be taken into account due to the growing sociocultural diversity existing in museum institutions. To this end, the general objective is to provide an overview of the reality and themes addressed in museum documentation in Brazil in the selected period. Of a qualitative and exploratory nature, the methodological procedure used was the bibliographic research in scientific databases. It is expected to contribute to the field of Brazilian museum documentation from the mapping carried out in order to survey the main approaches and update the area, once the contemporary challenges involving the field have been identified and clarified.
