Abstract

Objective: To present the epidemiological characteristics of patients with Leprosy in the Center-West of Brazil between 2013 and 2022. Methods: This study adopts an ecological perspective of temporal analysis. Epidemiological information on region of notification, sex, education, year, operational class and age group was collected in October 2023 in the SINAN/DATASUS and the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). Results: The Central-West was the second region most affected by Leprosy in the last 10 years. 58.86% of notifications were from individuals who did not complete primary education. It was observed that the largest number of cases is in the male population (7.582 more cases). The multibacillary form was the most common. 59.8% of notifications were registered in Mato Grosso. Conclusion: A more comprehensive understanding of the leprosy situation in the area investigated was possible, requiring initiatives to promote early diagnosis and treatment.
