Abstract

This essay presents the systematization of the knowledge of the black community and the Black Movement, reflecting on their contributions to a different kind of teacher training, organized into a set of political-epistemological and emancipatory knowledges. This knowledge can be identified as identity, political and aesthetic-corporeal. Nilma Lino Gomes highlights the crucial role of these actors in the process of breaking away from training that is centered solely on the transmission of content, which does not take into account issues of gender, race, class and other diversities. This body of knowledge promotes the inclusion and appreciation of differences in pedagogical practices, provoking reflection on alternative ways of decolonizing thoughts, discourses and curricula, and recognizing the knowledge that comes from indigenous peoples and Afro-descendants.  The knowledge produced by the black population represents a specific way of understanding the world, a rationality influenced by the experience of race - seen as a social, historical and cultural construction - in a society marked by racialization since its inception.
