VOICES THAT UNDERLIE THE SPEECH OF FORMER STATE DEPUTY JANAINA PASCHOAL (PRTP-SP) ON PRIORITY TO SINGLE MOTHERS IN SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC POLICIES IN BRAZIL

Abstract

This article, of qualitative basis and interpretative character, seeks to understand that memories nourish the current political discourse and that inflame conditions of discursive production that reproduce stigmas that violate through language, specifically through socio-historical-cultural labels imposed on the woman-mother. In line with the Social Pragmatic Studies of Discourse, Discourse Analysis and Dialogical Studies of Discourse, we seek to analyze the reasons why the discourse, conveyed on social networks, of former state deputy Janaina Paschoal (PRTB-SP) on Bill 3717/2021, which provides priority to solo mothers in social and economic policies in Brazil, is legitimate and endorsed. In the content of the statement, which is the focus of this work, the former parliamentarian disregards as a family that composed only of the mother and her children. Our analysis shows that the context of the rise of far-right groups since 2014 enabled their supporters to spread discourses of exclusion, sexism and machismo. They created situations of power that were normalized, which explains why a congresswoman, lawyer, doctor of law, who used unconstitutional discourse, was applauded by many of her readers.
