Prospecção Tecnológica e Científica das Atividades Biológicas do Gênero Sterculia para Aplicação na Área da Saúde

Resumo

Os bioativos do gênero Sterculia possuem diversas atividades, incluindo propriedades medicinais. Entre as espécies conhecidas, destacam-se Sterculia foetida, Sterculia uren e Sterculia striata. Este trabalho teve como objetivo prospectar em artigos e em patentes a atividade biológica dos bioativos do gênero Sterculia no período de 2013-2023, utilizando as databases ScienceDirect, Scielo, Pubmed, INPI, Espacenet e WIPO. A prospecção indicou a Índia com maior número de artigos e a China como maior detentor patentário. As databases PubMed e ScienceDirect apresentaram mais publicações voltadas para a área da saúde, visto que, em diversos países, esse bioativo é utilizado no tratamento de doenças devido às suas atividades biológicas evidenciadas, como: antimicrobiana, anti-inflamatória, antioxidante e anticâncer. O buscador Scielo indicou publicações direcionadas para a agronomia. A crescente utilização dos bioativos do gênero Sterculia indica potencial para o desenvolvimento de novos tratamentos e produtos agrícolas. Esse avanço sugere que a China é destaque em investimentos, em pesquisas e em desenvolvimento.
