Potencial Terapêutico de Biofilmes de Alginato e Nanopartículas de Cobre para Cicatrização de Feridas

Resumo

A cicatrização de feridas envolve a ação de diferentes tecidos e substâncias produzidas pelo organismo. O investimento em novos dispositivos cicatrizantes melhorou a prática clínica, mas ainda há necessidade de avanços e melhorias dos curativos considerando a complexidade do controle da cicatrização de feridas e o alto custo dos produtos existentes. Os revestimentos poliméricos contendo substâncias ativas tornam-se alternativas ao tratamento de feridas cutâneas. O alginato de sódio tem sido utilizado com essa proposta devido as seguintes características: facilidade de formação de filmes, hidrogéis, fios; biocompatibilidade; degradabilidade. O alginato pode ser combinado com outros polímeros ou elementos metálicos para melhorar suas propriedades. O cobre nanoparticulado é uma boa opção para formação de nanocompósitos com alginato, pois implementa novas capacidades ao sistema de revestimento, como efeitos bactericida, hemostático e indutivo na produção de biomoléculas essenciais ao processo de regeneração tecidual. A prospecção aborda patentes publicadas nos últimos anos com foco nos efeitos biológicos dos curativos de alginato com outros polímeros e nanopartículas de cobre, bem como métodos de síntese, ensaios, resultados e aplicações de matrizes poliméricas de alginato para cicatrização de feridas.
