Abstract

Based on a visit to the “autohistories” exhibition (Paris, 2024), a collective exhibition inspired by the thoughts of the Chicana feminist theorist, activist and poet Gloria Anzaldúa, we developed this essay considering the conceptual pair vivência and experiences. From the shared experience, we think about the ways in which the different texts on display mobilized and affected us and, from this affective territory, we reflected on communication, self-writing and experience.

PhD in Linguistic Studies from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). Adjunct Professor in the Department of Social Communication and PPGCOM at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). Productivity scholarship holder (CNPQ). Visiting professor at the Institut Mines-Télécom, France, 2023/2024 (Capes-Print scholarship). Leader of Afetos: Research Group on Communication, Discourses and Experiences, co-coordinator of the Sound Experimentation Laboratory (LES) and Rádio Terceiro Andar.

Carlos Magno Camargos Mendonça, Federal University of Minas Gerais

PhD in Communication and Semiotics from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (2007). Full Professor in the Department of Social Communication at the Federal University of Minas Gerais and PPGCOM UFMG. Post-doctorate at the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain (2011/2012). PQ scholarship holder (CNPq). He is one of the research leaders of the Center for Studies in Aesthetics of the Performative and Communicational Experience - NEEPEC. Special Advisor to the Rector of UFMG - Management 2022/2026.

Felipe Viero Kolinski Machado Mendonça, Federal University of Minas Gerais

PhD in Communication Sciences from the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS). Adjunct Professor in the Department of Social Communication at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and the PPGCOM UFMG and UFOP. Doctoral internship (CAPES/PDSE grant) at the Centro em Rede de Investigação em Antropologia (CRIA/ISCTE-IUL), in Lisbon/Portugal. Vice-coordinator (2020-2022) and coordinator (2022-2024) of the Communication, Genders and Sexualities WG of the National Association of Postgraduate Programs in Communication (Compós). He is a member of the research group Ponto - Mídia, Gêneros, Sexualidades (UFOP).
