The present text aims to conduct a bibliography review of studies on masculinity within barbershops. It seeks to identify, in the selected articles, how the main debates on the topic have been presented, as well as the current definitions, concepts, and theoretical frameworks that support each study. Furthermore, it intends to examine these materials through the theoretical perspectives of intersectionality (Collins, 2022) and male domination (Bourdieu, 2012), considering that the propositions regarding diversity and gender hierarchies are essential to understand the construction of masculine identities and performances in barbershops.
