Abstract

As personagens homo/lesbo/bi/transexuais surgem no cinema na década de 1930. Com a vigência doCódigo de Hayes (1934-1963), elas são mostradas de forma negativa e inferior. Mas é com a revolução dasociedade no fim da década de 1960 que essas personagens começaram a ganhar destaque no cinema mundial etemas relevantes para o público LGBTTIS perderam o tom de deboche e/ou vilania. O objetivo deste trabalho éanalisar as diferentes manifestações e tratamentos dados à homo/lesbo/bi/transexualidade, de forma panorâmica,durante o período em que o Código de Hayes assolava a indústria hollywoodiana, bem como o período posteriorao Código, findando-se na produção de filmes contemporâneos sobre a temática.
