Reflexões sobre a Natividade: debates historiográficos sobre os relatos do nascimento de Jesus nos Evangelhos Canônicos

Desde a renovação das pesquisas sobre o Jesus histórico, em meados do século XX, os relatos do nascimento de Jesus contidos nos evangelhos canônicos têm recebido grande atenção de historiadores. A narrativa amplamente conhecida como “Natividade” tem ensejado profícuos debates sobre sua historicidade e sobre sua relevância para conhecermos as crenças e tradições que circulavam entre os primeiros cristãos. Este artigo tem os objetivos de examinar a Natividade sob a perspectiva dos debates historiográficos e discutir a historicidade dos eventos relacionados ao nascimento de Jesus como narrados nos evangelhos canônicos.
