Abstract

Objective: to analyze the profile of Research Groups in the History of Nursing registered in the Directory of Research Groups in Brazil Lattes. Method: descriptive documentary study. Data collection took place in two stages, being carried out between November 2022 and January 2023. In the first stage, a search was carried out in the Directory of Research Groups in Brazil Lattes. The second stage was related to publications by research group leaders, which occurred through access to the Lattes Curriculum. Results: the southeast region has the highest concentration of Research Groups (42.10%/n=8), followed by the northeast region (26.31%/n=5). The central-west, south and north regions have 3 (15.78%), 2 (10.52%) and 1 (5.26%) Research Groups, respectively. There is a predominance of women in the leadership of Research Groups. In relation to productions, there is a higher productivity of female leaders, with an average of 41.72%, while male leaders have a lower productivity, with an average of 37.75% articles. Final considerations: Although it is important that there be a significant number of Research Groups in the History of Nursing, the quality of the knowledge produced and its practical application are the most relevant factors to guarantee the maintenance and strengthening of this area of research.
