DESVELANDO OS IMPACTOS DA VIOLÊNCIA NA SAÚDE MENTAL DAS MULHERES COM DEFICIÊNCIA FÍSICA

Objective: to understand the impacts of violence on the mental health of women with physical disabilities. Method: descriptive, exploratory research, with a qualitative approach, between June and July 2022, with 11 women with physical disabilities treated in Basic Health Units. Data collection took place through an individual interview and analysis of the data collected through of thematic content analysis. Results: cases of violence negatively influence the lives of victims with psychological and emotional changes, in addition to feelings that demonstrate the experience of insecurity, fear, concerns and vulnerability that women face in their daily lives. Conclusion: reveals the need to implement preventive strategies for this public health problem, as it is evident that the effects of violence are not restricted to physical damage, but rather to the repercussions on the victims' mental health.
