Aim: To identify whether the curricula of nursing degree programmes taught in Portugal include content related to the principles of ecohealth. Method: Descriptive documentary analysis with a qualitative approach. Data collected from 19 syllabuses accessible online. Results: There is no reference in the syllabuses to the concept of Ecohealth. Social and gender equity is one of the most frequently mentioned principles. Little visibility in the syllabuses of content related to the connection between health and the environment, sustainable development and participation. Final considerations: We have identified the need for a paradigm shift, particularly an ecocentric one in nursing education, and the Ecological Health approach can contribute to expanding the traditional view of teaching.
