About the Journal

Created in 2023, Laje (ISSN: 2965-4904) is a publication of the research group¡DALE! – Decolonizar a América Latina e seus Espaços, based at the School of Architecture of the Federal University of Bahia (FAUFBA). Rated B2 in Qualis Periódicos, it is dedicated to the Latin American decolonial turn, epistemologies of the South, and the decolonization of knowledge, prioritizing transdisciplinary production at the intersection  with the field of Architecture and Urbanism.

This dossier brings together research that expands mobility studies from perspectives of, in, and from the Global South. By prioritizing publications in Portuguese and Spanish and fostering South–South dialogues, it explores migration, tourism, cities, infrastructures, materialities, justice, climate, and inequality. Together, the contributions highlight the analytical potential of mobilities for understanding contemporary dynamics of movement and (im)mobility across diverse social and territorial contexts.
