Abstract

Technological and economic development relies on innovations, crucial for protecting industrial property rights and generating social and economic benefits. The Federal Institutes (IFs) play a vital role in promoting technology transfer (TT), empowering individuals, fostering innovation, and enhancing business competitiveness. This study investigated TT in the seven IFs of the Northern region of Brazil, identifying opportunities to address research gaps in the Amazon. The methodology employed literature review and resolution analysis, unveiling diverse strategies in the IFs' TT policies. While there is centralization in the Technological Innovation Centers (TICs), discrepancies arise regarding exclusivity in TT. The sensitivity of IFPA and IFAC to environmental and social issues, along with practices to promote entrepreneurship and integration with other public policies, is highlighted. Future prospects involve stimulating entrepreneurship, integrating traditional communities, and aligning with public policies to drive technological development in the region.
