Interview with Antonio Cerdeira Pilão about the launch of his book “Infinitos amores
um anthropological study on polyamory”

Antonio Cerdeira Pilão is the author of the book “Infinitos Amores: an anthropological study on polyamory” published in Rio de Janeiro, by the publisher Telha, in 2022. The book is the result of the author's master's research carried out through the Postgraduate Program in Sociology and Anthropology from the Federal University of Rio Janeiro (PPGSA-UFRJ), under the guidance of Mirian Goldenberg and defended in 2012, achieving pioneering status in academic research in Brazil on polyamory. The book contains 162 pages and is divided into six chapters: conversion; practice; identity; gender and sexuality; ideology; love and final considerations. The author has a master's degree in sociology and a doctorate in anthropology from UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro), post-doctorate in Anthropology from the University of São Paulo and in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora and is a post-doctoral fellow in the Post-doctorate in Public Health from USP (University of São Paulo). The interview took place on the occasion of the launch of the book, in 2023 it was published in sections on Instagram and in full on YouTube on @pesquisasnaomono. Both digital platforms are means of disseminating the research group “politics, affections and non-monogamous sexualities” of which the interviewee is coordinator and which brings together researchers on non-monogamy from different locations in Brazil.Downloads
