Abstract

The aim of this article is not only to present alternative forms of love – different arrangements for falling, being and staying in love, beyond monogamy –, but also to conduct a thorough investigation into the psychoanalytic reflection on relationships and female desire, pleasure/orgasm within non-monogamy. This scientific essay problematizes the myth of romantic love as the only form of love and points to new directions and paths for conjugality, offering new marital practices, taking into account the modus operandi of the contemporary times. Non-monogamy becomes a catalyst for self-growth/affective knowledge, the construction of a solid emotional intelligence and personal fulfillment/satisfaction as a way to deepen the understanding of desire for oneself and for the other(ness). This scientific essay is of utmost importance to investigate the – intra and inter – subjective processes in contemporary and alternative love relationships.
