HUNGER AS AN INSTRUMENT OF GENOCIDE: Israel’s Policy of Extermination of the Palestinian Population

Abstract

The article examines the policy of starvation imposed by Israel on the Gaza Strip, arguing that it cannot be understood as a mere instrument of war but rather as a deliberate practice of extermination that forms part of the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people. The article adopts a descriptive case-study methodology, combining a chronological account of Israel’s blockade measures and food-restriction policies with statistics and reports produced by international organizations. The analysis highlights the intentional character of the starvation policy, the fragility of the international system in the face of the inaction of multilateral institutions, and the role played by the United States in the Security Council.
