The sports world, historically structured under binary and cisheteronormative parameters, has been the stage of intense ethical, political, and legal disputes involving gender, sexual orientation, and fundamental rights.

With the aim of gathering original and interdisciplinary research on these tensions, Revista Direito e Sexualidade (RevDirSex) opens the call for papers for the thematic dossier "Law, Sexuality, and Sport", scheduled for publication on December 31, 2026.

📌 Featured Thematic Axes:

  • Participation of trans women, travestis, and intersex individuals in high-performance sports competitions;

  • Sex verification testing, eligibility criteria, and international sports regulations in light of Human Rights;

  • Homophobia, lesbophobia, biphobia, transphobia, harassment, and gender-based violence in sports;

  • Sports jurisdiction, judicial review of discriminatory regulations, and arbitration (CAS/TAS);

  • Public policies, media representation, and personality rights of LGBTQIA+ athletes.

📝 Indispensable Requirements for Submission:

  • Minimum Academic Degree: At least one of the authors must hold a PhD or be a PhD candidate (with a maximum limit of 3 authors per article).

  • ORCID Identification: In alignment with high-quality indexing criteria (Qualis A1), providing the ORCID iD of all authors at the time of registration in the system is now mandatory.

  • Languages: Works will be accepted in Portuguese, English, or Spanish.
