Abstract

In the context of contemporary societies, demands for redistribution and recognition permeate debates in the public sphere. In effect, Nancy Fraser discusses this issue and, more importantly, proposes a new key of interpretation based on perspective dualism. We then pay attention to the relevance of his theoretical position with regard to understanding contemporary social reality. Given this, our intention is to explore the concepts of redistribution and recognition, highlighting the types of social ordering, subordination and obstacles to participatory parity. Therefore, regarding the subordination of women, our main objective is to demonstrate, based on Fraser's thinking, that this gender issue is related to social class and status.
